Welcome
After a wonderful conference in 2024, excitement is building for what is to come at HaemOnc 2025, themed “Bridging the Gap,” where we explore the connections between research and practice, global advances and local implementation, and between different specialties within haematology. As our field continues to evolve rapidly, we recognize the importance of building bridges that connect various aspects of haematological care, ensuring that innovative treatments and diagnostic strategies reach all patients effectively.
In 2025, our focus is on addressing the critical gaps in haematology care while fostering meaningful connections between “state of the art/global” perspectives and “local reality.” To achieve this, each session will bring together local case studies, insights from world-renowned experts, advances in diagnostics and rigorous academic discussions. This approach promises a richly engaging and educational experience for all participants as we continue to strengthen the collaboration between clinicians and pathologists that we have nurtured through our virtual educational initiatives with our weekly Deep Dive. The topics for HaemOnc 2025 are carefully chosen to address key challenges and opportunities in bridging various gaps in our field. We will explore both benign and malignant haematological conditions, with special emphasis on creating practical pathways to integrate novel agents and diagnostics into our patient care paradigms, particularly within local contexts.
I encourage you to register now and prepare for what is sure to be another enriching and memorable HaemOnc experience. Join us as we come together as colleagues and friends to build bridges, share knowledge, and contribute to the ever-advancing field of haematology.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Century City Conference Center in Cape Town from 12-14 September 2025.
Sincerely,
Prof Vernon Louw
